She reclaims the power within,
Always there, yet obscured
By fairytales spun and trials faced.
Bullied, belittled, she struggled,
Betrayed by stories of rescue
Instead of trusting her own strength.
She stops, breathes, immerses in the moment,
Noting the chirping of birds,
The crash of waves on the shore,
The sun’s warmth, the breeze’s caress,
The sand’s texture, the grass’s touch,
Absorbing the earth’s wisdom in each exhale.
She sheds the weight of shame and guilt,
Unburdens herself of imposed duties,
Releases the urge to control the uncontrollable,
Ceases the exhausting quest for approval,
Acknowledging self-critique’s harm,
Perfectionism’s toll on her body.
She discovers herself anew,
Finds gratitude in her being,
Nurtures self-compassion’s bloom,
Embraces her body’s flaws,
Finally realising her inherent lovability,
Thankful for all her body endures.
She delights in the marvel of existence,
Awakening one day to clarity,
As the brain fog lifts,
The scales fall away from her eyes,
Hearing the universe’s gentle whisper,
“The Power was Always Within You.”
